In Vienna, the 42nd Cafe (Geiselbergstrasse 27-31), gives every hoopy frood who has their towel with them a Melange (a Viennese coffee specialty). In Pernambuco, the 9th edition of the free Power-Kon Recife convention takes place from 21 to 23 May (11am - 8pm).
Like every year it celebrates Nerd Pride Day and Towel Day. This year will honor the 25th anniversary of Pokemon and the 30th anniversary of Street Fighter II, with a geek fair with sales of pop culture fan products, many actions, and special guests from all over the world.
They will be announced on Instagram @powerkonrecife where also virtual attractions will be featured to celebrate Towel and Nerd Pride day.
The livestream on Twitch will run from 24 May 3pm local time until 26 may. It will feature artists, voice actors, game championships, karaoke, a dubbing workshop, live shows, cosplay, Kpop performances, DJ's, geek stands selling products online, international correspondants reporting from other countries, etc. More to be announced.
The benefits of the fair geek products will go to store owners who suffered low sales during the pandemic in 2020 and beginning of 2021. With another donation solidarity action, food will be collected for event professionals who were out of work during the pandemic. Due to covid security protocols there won't be a lot of stage programming, but there will be some very pleasant attractions for the public.

In Lincoln, NE, software engineering company Don't Panic Labs runs their annual towel drive.
They collect new and used towels for the People's City Mission, that has a constant need for towels.
Towels are collected from May 17th to May 25th in two locations, and financial contributions for towels are also accepted.
The company's name was inspired by Adams' best-known novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where the words 'Don't Panic' are printed on the cover of the Guide.

Just like in 2020, the Turkish Towel Company will, for each towel sold on their website, donate a towel to Western Carolina Rescue Mission (WCRM).
