• On radio show The Witching Hour on 4ZZZ.fm in Australia, host Nyx Fullmoon did a Douglas Adams tribute on May 22, that remains available for on demand listening here for a while. Nyx is a big Hitchhiker's Guide and Adams fan, and even sent her daughter to the same college at Cambridge as Douglas. 4ZZZ.fm broadcasts a new episode of The Witching Hour, every Saturday from 10pm to midnight, Australian time.

• From 14:00 until 15:00 local time, on Radio Proton Philipp Horatschek will read from Douglas Adams' cult novel "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". You can listen here to a recording.
• In Vienna, the 42nd Cafe (Geiselbergstrasse 27-31), gives every hoopy frood who has their towel with them a Melange (a Viennese coffee specialty). Yes, they named their place after the answer to life, the universe and everything, and they also have different pizzas named after our heroes Ford Prefect, Slartibartfast, etc. Check out their website and Instagram.

• In Pernambuco, the 9th edition of the free Power-Kon Recife convention takes place from 21 to 23 May (11am - 8pm).
  Like every year it celebrates Nerd Pride Day and Towel Day. This year will honor the 25th anniversary of Pokemon and the 30th anniversary of Street Fighter II, with a geek fair with sales of pop culture fan products, many actions, and special guests from all over the world. They will be announced on Instagram @powerkonrecife where also virtual attractions will be featured to celebrate Towel and Nerd Pride day. The livestream on Twitch will run from 24 May 3pm local time until 26 may. It will feature artists, voice actors, game championships, karaoke, a dubbing workshop, live shows, cosplay, Kpop performances, DJ's, geek stands selling products online, international correspondants reporting from other countries, etc. More to be announced.
  The benefits of the fair geek products will go to store owners who suffered low sales during the pandemic in 2020 and beginning of 2021. With another donation solidarity action, food will be collected for event professionals who were out of work during the pandemic. Funds will be raised to donate to hospitals and health professionals in Pernambuco.
  Due to covid security protocols there won't be a lot of stage programming, but there will be some very pleasant attractions for the public.

• In Pardubice, Douglas Adams' work will be paid tribute to at 16.00. "Come with us to honor the work of Adams Douglas - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by visibly wearing a travel towel. Under the portrait of the president of the galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox, we will expect the unlikely arrival of the "Heart of Gold" and try to come up with the basic question of "life, the universe and everything". • In Turku, Towel Day will once more be celebrated with the traditional Bad Poetry Recitation at Cosmic Comic Cafe. It will be held as a live web stream and starts at 19:30. Prophet Zarquon claims that this is the oldest ongoing bad poetry night on Towel Day; they started in 2006. This poetry night is not a competition. The poems will be churned out by the audience on the spot ' this year in the online chat. Texts will be recited aloud immediately by the representatives of the Pan-Galactic Poetry Recitation Office'. • Q42, a Dutch company that works on apps, websites, connected devices, games and VR, continues its tradition of giving away cool towels. Instructions on how to win one can be found here.

• In Lincoln, NE, software engineering company Don't Panic Labs runs their annual towel drive. They collect new and used towels for the People's City Mission, that has a constant need for towels. Towels are collected from May 17th to May 25th in two locations, and financial contributions for towels are also accepted.
  The company's name was inspired by Adams' best-known novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where the words 'Don't Panic' are printed on the cover of the Guide. They've made a video to promote their towel drive. More
• Just like in 2020, the Turkish Towel Company will, for each towel sold on their website, donate a towel to Western Carolina Rescue Mission (WCRM). The Fletcher-based company aims to raise awareness of the shelter's increasing need for basic items, especially during a pandemic, and help increase donations of items like towels, detergent and bleach. They are selling their handmade artisanal babel fish candy again. It's a popular product and they've changed the flavor a bit. It used to be pina colada it's now lemon pie.
